The Green Lungs of Poland Association is the direct successor of the Green Lungs of Poland Foundation and continues all the actions and initiatives undertaken by the Foundation, which have resulted in numerous events in the field of tourism and, in particular, the tourism basing on the natural resources of northeastern Poland. The major events of the Green Lungs of Poland Program related to the development of tourism include: the organization of the World Day of Tourism in Białowieża under the slogan “Eco-tourism as the Key to Sustainable Development”, the preparation and implementation of an integrated nature tourism offer within the product of the<br>Green Lungs of Poland - Eco-tourist Land, the preparation of the concept of the Green Lungs of Poland in the context of the development of eco-tourism as the main branch of industry in the region. For nearly 10 years, the Green Lungs of Poland Program has functioned in the public opinion of the inhabitants of Podlasie, Warmia and Masuria, the northern Masovia and the eastern part of Kujawy and Pomerania as an ideal way of promoting the commercial offer of business entities operating in these regions. As the organizer of nature tourism in Poland, the Green Lungs of Poland Foundation cooperates with other organizations of this type operating in Europe.The symbol and image of this concept is the Green Lungs of Poland Promotional Sign, which indicates the high quality of tourist enterprises of this region. According to the surveys conducted by the Polish Brand Institute and other regional academic centres, nearly 60% of respondents identify with the concept of the Green Lungs of Poland as the cleanest area of Poland and, at the same time, the perfect holiday venue. Almost all leading tourist enterprises in this region have decided to promote their offer in the context of their location in the vicinity of rich natural resources, which is reflected by the Green Lungs of Poland brand. Suffice to mention the action “Masuria - the Wonder of Nature” as the candidate to the New 7 Wonders of the World, which was popular all over the world.
